The Marine biology Coloring Book is a coloring textbook. It is a complete course on Marine biology that you can color in. Coloring provides a multisensory approach to learning which can enhance memorization. Coloring is fun and allows you to be creative, while helping you learn about a new topic. As a teacher who has used this book in my classroom, I would highly recommend it. Topics include marine ecology, rocky coastlines, coral reefs, biology, coloration, defense mechanisms, reproduction and taxonomy of fish, and various phyla of invertebrates. There are some that believe these books are too hard for young children. This is nonsense. Coloring books provide a pressure free way to learn. Who says a 5 year old cannot learn the names or body parts of a fish. On the other hand, there is a ton of information in here that is appropriate for all ages including college students. One need only use the information that is of interest to them and then enjoy coloring in the pictures! Besides the Marine Biology Coloring Book, I also recommend Anatomy Coloring Book, The (3rd Edition), The Botany Coloring Book and The Complete Hawaiian Reef Fish Coloring Book.

Edison, His Life and Inventions (mobi)

This book does a good job of explaining Edison's personality, and a great job of explaining his achievements. The book is obviously carefully researched, and demonstrates a deep technical understanding of Edison's inventions. Thomas Edison was a prodigious inventor and a symbol of the American entrepreneurial spirit. His influence on the 20th century through the electric light, the phonograph, and his other inventions truly transformed the American experience. The book is well written, and I enjoyed reading it, and a reader looking for an understanding of Edison's inventions will not be disappointed. The Kindle edition of this book is very good!

My roommates and I discovered Ciao Bella ice cream while shopping at our neighborhood Whole Foods. Though we loved the flavors offered at our Whole Foods, especially the Hazelnut (yum!), we wanted to try some of the other flavors, because the ones we had were so delicious! We found ourselves surfing Ciao Bella's web page and then searching for specific flavors at distance grocery stores.

Then ... everything changed! We discovered this cookbook. If you follow their directions and use fresh ingredients that are ripe/fresh, yours really will turn out just as good as the store bought Ciao Bella gelato. Promise. Why pay .00+ for a pint if you can make your own?!

The day the book came I read it cover to cover. There are so many flavors to choose from, not to mention it's inspiring. Fig and port? Yum! Though we certainly haven't made all the recipes, once you master the basic recipe there is very little to change when it comes to adding flavors. I really liked that in the beginning of the book they discussed technique, stressing the importance of temperature, etc. They even explained the difference between different vanillas, which I certainly did not know. As they emphasized, you should feel inspired to try your own variations. After reading different recipes I began to gain a good perspective of when to add more sugar and when not to, etc. The recipes offer inventive combinations that sound delightful. It certainly gets you thinking about what other fruits you can combine to make delicious masterpieces. I certainly felt inspired and have made my own fruit sorbets based loosely on some of the recipes. Everything we've whipped together has turned out fabulous. I can't wait to try the champagne sorbets at New Years!

Definitely worth the price. Did I mention we use this as a coffee table book now? Everyone loves it!

The way the phrases are sectioned by activity is a great help! When I'm at the train station or airport there is a section perfect to assist me. When I'm shopping in the plaza, I can get to what I need in a hurry. When I'm at the restaurant and want to verify what I'm ordering, that too can be found easily.

Rick Steve even tells you numbers, money, time, days of the week, months, and even some common verbs and their conjugations. This really is the hitch hikers guide to italian phrases. If you're planning a trip and want to prepare, or even if you have no time and are using this only as a pocket companion, you can't go wrong.

This coloring book starts with a short blurb about Lady's book (later Godey's Lady Book) aka who we can thank for these lovely images.

Each page gives us information about the page we're coloring -- including the year that fashion appeared, the fabrics used, what the accents are, etc.

While some adult coloring books require you to all but grab a magnifying glass for the details, this one is a bit kinder on the eyes. Some pages have almost no small areas leaving you to your own devices when it comes to just how much shading / sprucing up of the image you'd like to do. Or, alternatively, if you're in the mood for some of the more detailed challenges some pages do have fashions that will require you sharpen the colored pencils to a fine point before you start working on them.

Some of the coloring books that are geared towards adults might not be as appropriate for kids, but this one is just fine for them. Really small kids would maybe have problems with the pages that have some of the finer details, but beyond that, there's no reason why kids of all ages couldn't color these pages.

If you like Victorian fashion, history, and coloring then you won't want to miss this one.

Wow...I never thought playing with stickers wth a 24 month old could be so much fun. Kids this age naturally LOVE stickers, and this book helps focus that joy of making pictures stick on things in productive ways, as opposed to just sticking them on paper, furniture, or little brothers.
For a child this age, it is definately an activity that requires interaction, but that is what I find so charming. It is great for low key, focused attention time. My nehew and I get to chatter back and forth about the letters, numbers, colors, animal, motor vehicles, plants and etc...it is truly a bonding experience that we both look forward to on his visits.He enjys reviewing what we did previously almost as much as he enjoys ctively stickering. He developes hand/eye coordination, learns about object orientation, size and shape groupings, and so much more. I end up removing the sticker pages that coorespond with each section as we progress, rather than flipping back and forth. Perhaps an older child would enjoy flipping throuh, but it is too distracting for a two year old.
I highly recommend this book, and am already planning on purchasing more as we complete this one.
